What's it all about?
The Race for the Arts is a 5K run to support the Arts programs in Palm Beach County Schools and to celebrate Arts opportunities our students have in Palm Beach County. All money raised will go directly to Arts programs and our youth.

The 2011 Event!

The 10th Annual Race for the Arts
Celebration of Young Artists
...was held at the John Prince Park Center Drive Pavilion in beautiful Lake Worth, Florida on Saturday, May 7th 2011. Attendees enjoyed music, dance and artwork provided by the children of Palm Beach County. It was a beautiful day at a nice 71° at 4:30am for those of us onsite early to setup!!  The runners enjoyed a little breeze and 72° for the Kids 1 Miler, 5K run and fun walk!

It's a Record Year!
We had more preregistered runners and walkers than ever before including 65 children preregistered for the Make Your Mom Proud – Kids 1 Miler!!

It’s a new race record!!  Jonathan Volpi of Boca Raton, FL took 1st place overall and broke the record with a time of 15:32.7!

Each child registered in the Kids 1 Miler received a t-shirt, a medal and a carnation for Mom!!

While the kids got to enjoy bounce houses and the arts and craft table, everyone enjoyed the Silent Auction, Music, Dance, Art and refreshments supplied by our sponsors!!

And thank you to the Race for the Arts Committee of volunteers that work year round to make this great event supporting arts in our schools happen!!!
